austriamicrosystems completes USD 320m acquisition of Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions

On 14 July 2011, SIX-listed austriamicrosystems AG, Unterpremstätten, Austria (www.austricamicrosystems.com), a leading global designer and manufacturer of high performance analog ICs for the consumer, communications, industrial, medical and automotive markets, completed its acquisition of Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions, Inc. (TAOS), Plano, Texas (USA; www.taosinc.com), a globally recognized innovator in light sensing technology and a leading worldwide supplier of light sensing solutions. The transaction value amounted to USD 320 million payable partially in cash and in newly issued austriamicrosystems shares.

Schellenberg Wittmer advised austriamicrosystems on all Swiss law related aspects of the acquisition including the listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange of the newly issued austriamicrosystems shares to be used as a significant part of the overall purchase price.
